Long Range Goals
My long term goals for students are based upon teaching them to be lifelong learners. Specifically, these goals are for students to:
1. Learn to work cooperatively (help each other) in groups and to share the leadership role.
2. Learn to be diligent in finding answers and to research problems.
3. Learn to seek out and use available resources.
4. Develop an appreciation for lifelong learning and set specific long-term goals.
5. Make learning a fun and enjoyable challenge
These goals are based around teaching students lifelong learning techniques and skills while also teaching the lessons at hand. I chose them because I think the few things that can be taught in school are only a start, and the most valuable thing a student can gain from school is the ability to think reason and learn on their own. I will facilitate long range goals to the students by incorporating these very ideals into the curriculum. I will demonstrate how I used long range goals for student learning and broke these goals in lessons and tasks and finally taught the material to the students. Finally, I will show students how information they learned can relate to and enrich their lives.
My guidelines for success are:
1. Be positive, enjoy life and learn to not moan or complain when homework or in-class work is assigned.
2. Respect other student's comments, opinions and ideas both in speech and body language.
3. Learn to work cooperatively in groups and to sometimes take the leadership role.
4. Greet visitors and new students and make them feel welcome.
5. Be the best person you can be, honest, encouraging to others and show kindness to others.
6. If you make a mistake, learn from it and move on.
7. Be as organized as possible
8. If someone is bullying you, let me know.
My rules for success are:
1. Be responsible2. Be respectful
3. Be ready to learn
4. Have fun while learning
